Sabercats Sending Teams to Thanksgiving Weekend Tournament

Midget 16A and Bantam teams will be representing the San Francisco Sabercats in the International Silver Stick Tournament over Thanksgiving weekend. The Silver Stick Western Regionals will be held in San Jose, with the winners advancing to Finals in Canada.

Five Teams set for 2007 Season

San Francisco Sabercats are fielding five teams for the upcoming season: Mite B, Peewee B, Bantam A, Bantam B and Midget 16A. Thank you to all the players who tried out!

Tryout Requirements:

1. 2007-2008 USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION, register online at http://www.usahockeyregistration.com and bring a copy of the confirmation to your first tryout session.

2. Birth Certificate - for those player that have not played for the Sabercats.

3. Foreign Born Players - proof of legal residency.

4. Tryout fee: $25 per session of $60 for all three .

Last tuneup before tryouts is on Tuesday.

Anaheim Tournament Results!-6/1/07

The San Francisco Sabercats brought six teams (Squirt, Peewee B, Peewee A, Bantam B, Bantam A, and Midget 18A) to Anaheim for Memorial Weekend tournaments.

Of the six teams journeying to Anaheim, all enjoyed some type of success.

The Squirts, Bantam B's and Midget 18A's had nice wins. The Midget 18A team had a great reunion of former San Francisco players, while the Squirt team shows the strength of our next generation.

The Peewee A team made it to the semi-finals, only to lose a close game.

The Sabercat Bantam A team enjoyed an outstanding tournament, winning their first round of games 6-0, 7-0 and 7-2. The A's then won their semi-final game 4-2, advancing to the Championship Game. Unfortunately, they came up short in that game, but took home a silver trophy in the Bantam A division.

Most important, all of the players, parents and coaches had a fantastic time. The San Francisco hockey program successfully integrated hard work and fun on all levels.The kids are excited for both summer skills workouts and scrimmages, as well as looking forward to the Fall.

Welcome to the Updated Sabercats Website

Major changes are coming to the San Francisco Sabercats youth hockey program! A non-profit parental support corporation is being set up. Sabercat teams are competing in several summer tournaments. The 2007-2008 season will, for the first time, include teams in the Squirt, PeeWee, Bantam and Midget 16 age groups. Other improvements are on the way!

Watch for Tournament Results

The San Francisco Sabercats are sending a record six teams to compete in Anaheim Memorial Weekend Tournaments. The 12th Annual Shootout at the Anaheim ICE will host PeeWee A and PeeWee B teams, as well as Bantam A and Bantam B teams. Squirts and Midget 18 teams are competing in the Glacial Garden memorial Cup. Tournament game and skill contest results will be posted shortly after the the tournaments are completed.

Welcome NORCAL Players, Parents and Coaches To Sabercats Summer Select Tournament Teams

A substantial number of NORCAL players in a number of age groups, their parents and a number of their coaches, have joined with the San Francisco Sabercats to create an outstanding summer select tournament player pool. Teams represented include Berkeley, Capital Thunder, Cupertino, Oakland, San Francisco, San Jose, and Santa Rosa.
