The San Francisco Youth Hockey Association (SFYHA) is a 501c(3) public benefit corporation, established to promote the amateur sport of ice hockey in the San Francisco Bay Area by providing an opportunity for all youth, regardless of race, creed, religion or economic status to participate in the sport of ice hockey, and by promoting character development, good sportsmanship, fair competition and teamwork among youth, consistent with and in support of their academic responsibilities.

The largest expense for the San Francisco Sabercat Hockey teams is the rental of ice time from the Yerba Buena Ice Skating Center.  Our hockey season runs from mid-August through the end of March, with an average of about 10-12 home games and approximately 50 one-hour practices.  Current cost of ice time is $375 per hour, and that is divided among the members of each team.

We are seeking financial support to raise funds that will allow us to keep the overall costs per player affordable, expand the youth hockey equipment loaner program that helps offset the cost of safety equipment and also to reach out to a larger population of youth in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Through the generosity and kindness of individuals and businesses, we hope to continually provide this opportunity for our youth and community.
