Five of our six travel teams participated in the NORCAL finals last weekend in Oakland and Vacaville. We are so proud of all of our players and coaches. Thank you for representing our hockey club with such great sportsmanship and spirit. And with three of those teams winning the NORCAL Championship this weekend the San Francisco Youth Hockey Association has firmly established itself as a force to be reckoned with in west coast youth hockey.

High School D2 & Bantam B Teams Finish Exceptional Years

Sabercats High School D2 and Bantam B each lost hard-fought, semi-final games in their NORCAL appearances, leaving everything on the ice. In it’s inaugural season, the High School team not only made the NORCAL play-offs but won games against key, heavily-favored opponents throughout the season. Likewise, Bantams battled several key injuries and a short bench all season, yet still finished second in their division as well as winning the 12th Annual MLK Lake Tahoe Invitational Tournament. Congratulations on amazing seasons. We’ll get them next year!
Bantam B – Front Row: Ben Clement; Middle Row (L-R): Trieu Tran, Riley Goodman, Noah Raimi, Gavin Abom; Back Row (L-R): Kameron Jacob, Sahil Maurice, Quinn Klaiman, Carraig Butler, Alejandro Velasco, Erin McGlynn, Ben Ornelas Fries, Head Coach Zach McCoy.

Good luck to all of our State bound playoff teams. Congratulations to our High School D2, Bantam B and Squirt A players and coaches on great seasons.

Congratulations Coach Michelle!

On March 3rd, Squirt B Coach Michelle Chee was just one of ten SF Bay Area youth coaches presented with the Positive Coaching Alliance Double-Goal Coaching Award that recognizes youth coaches who emphasize good sportsmanship and who stress personal mastery for each player rather than just wins on the scoreboard. Coach Michelle was the only youth hockey coach recognized in a night that included a panel discussion with San Jose Sharks Coach Peter DeBoer, General Manager Doug Wilson and COO John Tortora. Thank you to Coach Michelle’s awesome team for nominating her for this amazing award! Way to go Michelle!
