The San Francisco Youth Hockey Association (SFYHA) is a 501-C3 non-profit organization that operates the San Francisco Sabercats Youth hockey program. SFYHA has a Board of Directors consisting of parent volunteers. The Board is responsible for executing the club’s mission, which is provided below. This includes oversight of the club’s bylaws, finances, registration, hockey operations, player safety, etc.

Our mission is to provide a safe and fun environment for hockey instruction that emphasizes skill development and promotes valuable life skills including the importance of hard work, dedication to goals,  development of self esteem, teamwork and good sportsmanship. The SFYHA follows the USA Hockey ADM model and believes that youth hockey players should have a developmentally appropriate learning environment from its entry level programs through to its most advanced programs.

We seek to  provide an opportunity for young people of all backgrounds in the San Francisco area to participate in and enjoy the sport of hockey in a positive environment and carry the love of hockey throughout their lives.
