San Francisco Youth Hockey Association (SFYHA) scholarships may be available for members of SFYHA Travel teams. SFYHA scholarships are one-time, partial scholarship awards intended for members facing financial hardship or a compelling current event that resulted in the need for scholarship consideration. All awards will be applied directly to the member’s SFYHA dues and are not redeemable for cash. All award decisions are the discretion of the SFYHA Board and are only awarded when funds are available. NOTE: partial and full scholarships are available as a credit against Sabercats dues.

Process

The player must first be registered with SFYHA. The scholarship application form must be completed and include all the information requested . You will then be notified in November upon the final decision of the SFYHA Board.

Volunteer Activity 
SFYHA is run by volunteers. As such, you as a scholarship applicant or recipient may be asked to perform some type of volunteer service in support of the SFYHA.

Confidentiality 
All application information will be held in strict confidence by the SFYHA Board and Norcal.

The entire Sabercats family is mourning the loss of Michael. He was a beloved teammate, hardworking player, and a joy to coach and be around. A beautiful soul, with aspirations of playing in the NHL, Michael will be deeply missed.
The outpouring of support from the broader hockey community has been overwhelming. From our fiercest local rivals to clubs throughout California and beyond, we have felt truly embraced. Michael will always be part of us and we will continue to honor his memory.
At this time, our thoughts are with Michael’s mother and father, Susan and Li, and sister, Michelle, as well as their entire family.

Join us at Yerba Buena this Spring for our Sabercats/Golden State Elite (GSE) Player Development Program (PDP)! Our Spring PDP is available for all ages (8u-18u), and will run April 9th through June 14th for 10 weeks of intense training to prepare players for tryouts. You’ll skate 2x a week with your 2024-25 coaches and players.
($575) Spring PDP registration includes:
  • PDP Spring jersey
  • Skating 2x week (one age-based practice, one skills camp)
  • 10 weeks of training (20 practices)
  • Goalie and Skating Coaching
  • Spring games between our GSE partners (Cupertino and Vacaville)
