Congratulations Coach Michelle!

On March 3rd, Squirt B Coach Michelle Chee was just one of ten SF Bay Area youth coaches presented with the Positive Coaching Alliance Double-Goal Coaching Award that recognizes youth coaches who emphasize good sportsmanship and who stress personal mastery for each player rather than just wins on the scoreboard. Coach Michelle was the only youth hockey coach recognized in a night that included a panel discussion with San Jose Sharks Coach Peter DeBoer, General Manager Doug Wilson and COO John Tortora. Thank you to Coach Michelle’s awesome team for nominating her for this amazing award! Way to go Michelle!

Concussion baseline testing coming soon!
In an effort to supplement our concussion protocols, the Sabercats organization will be offering bench-mark cognitive testing for our travel team players. This test determines a baseline so if a player gets a concussion the test can be repeated and the player’s healthcare provider will have additional information available to assess whether the player has fully recovered. The concussion testing program is by ImPact.
What does ImPact measure?
The test tracks a player’s symptoms and measures multiple aspects of cognitive functioning, including attention span, working memory, sustained and selective attention time, non-verbal problem solving, and reaction time.
Stay tuned for testing schedule details.
